Should you go the traditional route or add some modernity to your wedding invitations?
Invitations essentially give your guests their first impression of your big day, so it is important that you make the right impression. This makes it imperative that you consider the differences between classic and modern wedding invitation cards before placing your order! No doubt that there are a few items to consider prior to making a decision on whether you should go with traditional or modern style invitations.
The first thing to consider is the overall atmosphere/ theme/ vibe of your wedding that you are trying to create. Do you want a traditional wedding with the church and the ivory veil? Or perhaps you want a colourful celebration? Is there a special theme or colour scheme running throughout your event? These are some important elements to factor in when deciding between classic or modern invitations.
Classic wedding invitations are often simple in design and available in either a cream or white or blend of other soft colours. Traditionally, these invites are single sided and printed on a thick quality card stock. While many couples choose to have these classic invitations simply because of tradition, other couples are going the opposite route.
Modern wedding invitations cannot be summed up quite as easily. They are essentially any invitation that is not considered classic. Modern invitations can consist of bright colours or a blend of contrasting colours not considered appropriate in the past. They also need not just be a single sided invitation. Modern invites come in many interesting shapes and forms and what has become popular over the years are pockets to hold all the necessary information for wedding guests. As can be seen, modern wedding invitations are perfect for those couples that would like to make a statement about their upcoming wedding and want to be a little daring or different! On the other hand, traditional invitations would suit a couple whom love sticking to traditions and want to perhaps do it just the way their parents did it!
